SRINAGAR: Tarun Chug, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary and In-Charge of Jammu and Kashmir, stated on Wednesday that elections in Jammu and Kashmir would be conducted soon. He emphasised that Jammu and Kashmir would no longer operate on the agenda of separatism, but instead, follow the agenda of faith and development set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chug further mentioned that the Election Commission is diligently fulfilling its responsibilities and will announce the elections in Jammu and Kashmir in the near future.

During a media interaction, Chug raised the question of who is engaging in boycott politics in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the existence of democracy in the country and emphasized the belief of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in democracy.

Chug further stated, “The Abdullah, Mufti, and Gandhi families have undermined democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in a loss of faith in the democratic process among the people.”

“He also pointed out that since the revocation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed DDC Elections, BDC Elections, and Panchayat elections,” he said, adding that thousands of delegates, including 280 DDCs, have been elected. The Election Commission is currently engaged in its tasks and will soon announce elections in Jammu and Kashmir.”(KNO)
