Emotions went high during the Seminar organized by Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir, Thursday on the eve of anniversaries of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru as a documentary was screened during the seminar.

The documentary started with Afzal Guru’s picture and it depicted the alleged atrocities and killings by the hands of men in uniform. The documentary was keenly watched by the audience comprised of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru’s son, Afzal’s father in law and brother Shawkat Guru.

Once the documentary ended and the song “Shaheed Tum Say ye Kehrahay Hein, Lahoo Hamara Bhula Na Daina” (The martyrs say to you, not to forget our blood) stopped, the emotionally charged audience stood at their seats and started raising anti-India and pro-separatist slogans.

The sloganeering continued and ended on “Go India Go” slogans only after Hurriyat (JK) leaders pacified them.

The seminar was earlier addressed by Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) Prime Minister, as well.

Pertinently, Afzal Guru was sent to gallows last year on February 9, 2013 while as Bhat was hanged on February 11, 1984. Both were buried in Tihar jail, Delhi after hanging.
