SRINAGAR

The state government employees at North Kashmir’s Handwara Thursday accused that the authorities have turned blind eye towards their plight and that  the applications for the disbursement of their G.P. funds  are pending in the treasury office from the last one month.

According to the KNS district Correspondent, the employees while expressing serious concern over the ‘inordinate’ delay to the disbursement of their G.P. Funds stated that the treasury officers have kept their applications pending since more than a month.

“I have my son admitted in the hospital at Srinagar and I need money so that his blood transfusion could be done at the earliest but the delay is making me worried,” said Ghulam Qadir.

Another employee Mohammad Maqbool Mir said that the employees trust the government and save their precious money in the treasury so that they could use the same in the hour of need but the delay for the disbursement has no legal ground.

However, when the Treasury Officer Handwara was contacted, he told KNS that the treasury at present has no funds and that more than one crore and 85 lakhs are liability of the treasury at present. “I have cleared all the cases till November but after that no case could be cleared as we have no funds.”
