In order to sensitize people about scientific methods of increasing milk production, importance of nutrition and preventive measures to save livestock from various diseases, a daylong awareness camp was organized by the department of Animal Husbandry at Sumbal Thursday.
The camp was informed that the daily milk productions in Sumbal block has gone upto 30,600 litres while as the total cattle population reached to 6773 animals including 5983 crossbred. The department has treated 6496 animals and performed 19862 dozings this year so far.
As many as 32 farmers of the block who are having quality cows born out of A-1 (through departmental services) were rewarded in the shape of feed supplement, dairy equipments and medicines worth about Rs. 37000 during the camp.
