Encounter broke out between militants and government forces Sunday evening at Awoora Pahalgam, in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.
According to reports, joint group of forces working on a specific information about presence of militants in the village that is, some five kilometers short of Pahalgam cordoned the area. As soon as nallah Awoora Pahalgam was cordoned, gun shots were heard.
SHO Pahalgam confirmed the encounter reports, while he refused to give any further details.
However, Police sources say that there may be 2-3 militants present at the spot.
