Scores of hamlets in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district including Pakharpora Sunday observed complete shutdown on the 2nd anniversary of a native militant Master Shakeel Ahmed Wani alias Ali. A resident of Pakharpora, Shakeel was killed along with other four militants killed in Gadru Forest area of Kellar in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on January 15, 2015.
Eyewitnesses said that all the shops and business establishments remained shut in Pakharpora and transport was off the roads. Shutdown was also observed in other hamlets including Mohanpora, Aglar, Khaigam and Kanidajan,
Meanwhile, hundreds of people visited the houses of slain militant’s families to express solidarity with them.
