SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in the Dachhan area of Kishtwar district in Jammu division on Sunday.
A senior police officer stated that, following specific intelligence regarding suspicious activity, a cordon was established in the area.
During the search operation, security forces came under heavy fire, triggering a gunfight. The exchange of fire is currently ongoing, the officer said.
