SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between counter-insurgent forces and militants on Thursday, in the Machil area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
Officials said that contact was established with militants and the army’s 56 RR and 53 Infantry Brigade in Sardari Nar in Machil Sector.
The intermittent exchange of firing was going on, during the filing of this report.
