SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was on Thursday re-elected as president of the People’s Democratic Party for a term of three years.

One of the party leaders, who was part of the election process said that Mehbooba Mufti was reelected as president at party headquarters in Srinagar. The election process was done through a voice vote, he said.

He said that Vice President Abdul Rehman Veeri proposed the name of Mehbooba Mufti as the president, which was seconded by party general Secretary Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura.

Mehbooba Mufti has been elected as the party president president for 4th term in a row. The election to the party’s highest post is held after every three years. (KNS)
