SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
A top Police official said that on specific inputs about the militants hiding in Krumbhoora, Zachaldara Rajwar in Kupwara district, a search operation was launched by a joint team of forces.
He said that during search operation hiding militants fired upon security forces which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the incident.
