SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in the Tangmarg area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.
Quoting sources, JKNS reported that a tight cordon was put in place after specific input was received regarding suspicious movement in the area.
During the search operation, security forces came under heavy fire, triggering a gunfight. An intense exchange of fire is currently ongoing, the sources said.
The area has been cordoned off, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the site. Further details are awaited. (JKNS)
