Fierce encounter reportedly broke out between armed forces and militants in frontier district of Kupwara early Saturday.
Reports said that the firing from both sides is going on in Nowgam sector along the Line of Control (LoC).
“The gunfight broke out early Saturday morning after a group of militants tried to sneak into this side of Kashmir from across the LoC,” an army official was quoted as having said.
