SRINAGAR
An encounter broke out between suspected militants and forces in Kulgam district Thursday which is scheduled to go for polls in the second phase.
The encounter started at Chinigam village near Frisal, Yaripora.
Sources said that army, CRPF and SOG personnel cordoned off the village and started house to house search operation during which they (forces) were fired upon triggering an encounter.
They added reinforcement was send to the area and firing was going on when the reports last came in.
