An encounter started Saturday evening between militants and forces in Krumhura area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
“Acting upon specific information about the presence of militants the joint operation of army’s 21 RR, 6 RR and SOG cordoned off the whole Krumhura area in Zatchaldara,” a senior police official told GNS.
As the searches begin militants opened fire upon them resulting in heavy fire exchange between forces and militants.
When reports came in, the exchange of gunfight was going on.
