The security grid in the region is on high alert for the last few days after suspected militants kidnapped a soldier who was on leave. The army is patroling in the belt round the clock. So far, there has not been any recovery. However, reports said some of his blood-soaked clothes have been recovered.
The soldier Shakir Manzoor is a resident of Rishipora and was deputed in Balpora camp. He had come home when he was kidnapped. His vehicle was also set afire. Sources said the clothes of the abducted soldier were found in an orchard in Landoora village of Shopian on Friday after which a massive search operation was launched in the area to trace the missing soldier. So far no militant group has staked the claim for his kidnapping.
