The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has directed Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and other connected departments for demarcation of state land, allegedly encroached by some persons in connivance with JDA officials at village Keran (Bantalab), Jammu.

Secretary SDA.
“The report submitted by the Secretary, Jammu Development Authority to the Commission, discloses that a good portion of land under Khasra No. 312 min was transferred to Jammu Development Authority but, at present some shopping complexes exist on the land in question and in order to ascertain the factual position of the land, demarcation needs to be carried out by the Revenue Authorities in consultation with officials of the Jammu Development Authority,” he said.
“The State Vigilance Commission while taking serious note of the issue has directed JDA and Revenue authorities to get the land demarcated at the earliest, so that the public servants who, by their acts of omissions and commissions, facilitated the encroachments over the said land by private individuals are dealt in accordance with the law. The Commission also directed for submission of compliance report positively on 11-02-2016, failing which appropriate proceedings shall be initiated against defaulters.”
