SRINAGAR: Senior BJP leader and election in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir, Ram Madhav, condemned Er Rashid’s recent remarks following his release on interim bail from Tihar Jail. Rashid, who had been imprisoned for nearly five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for alleged anti-India activities, was granted bail for election campaigning purposes.
This rank separatist, in jail for last 5 years under UAPA for indulging in anti-India activities, is out on bail to further vitiate Valley politics. Look at d language… anti-Modi rants, restoring Art 370, freeing terrorists from jails… no different from what Omar or Mehabooba… https://t.co/XFQvWFceVo

In a statement on X, Madhav accused Rashid of attempting to destabilise Valley politics. “This rank separatist, who has been in jail for the past five years for anti-India activities, is now out on bail to further disrupt Valley politics,” Madhav said. “Look at his rhetoric—anti-Modi statements, calls to restore Article 370, and demands for the release of terrorists from jails.”
Madhav drew parallels between Rashid’s remarks and that of other politicians, including Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, and members of the National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peoples Conference (PC), whom he collectively referred to as the “Gupkar Gang.”
“He aims to undermine Modi’s vision of Naya Kashmir. We accept this challenge. The march towards Naya Kashmir will continue unrelenting,” Madhav asserted.
