All parties meeting called by lawmaker Engineer Rasheed, failed on Monday, because nobody from any of the invited parties came up to attend the meeting.
Er Rasheed made it clear that he is not going to resign from assembly membership and in the coming up assembly session he will be trying some ‘test doses.’ “Mainstream parties did not arrive at the meeting, even if the issue was related to the blood of Muhammad Afzal Guru,” he said in a press conference.
“I will fight till my last breath and I am not going to resign from my post as I know there are many talents in Kashmir who don’t have any platform to say anything but I am having one so I won’t leave this chance to help my people”, said MLA Langate, Rasheed.
He further informed that as per his sources in New Delhi “the people there want Rasheed to resign”.
For the failure of his all party meet, Rasheed said, “I was in touch with each party but at the eleventh hour they all informed that they are not coming, which was quite obvious why they did so (on the directions of New Delhi). Now I am asking all those parties to give a joint strategy and I will follow them.”
About the further programme Rasheed said that in coming up days he will visit all pro freedom parties and he will beg before all of them exhibit their plans and if found good for the people then he will follow them.
“I have strong apprehension that the ongoing rumor about the arrival of Afzal’s body and his burial in darkness might come true some day. This rumor might be a test to check the reaction of Kashmiris but I want to inform them, who are spreading this rumor that Afzal belongs to all Kashmiris, he is state’s stake now”, said the lawmaker.
Engineer Rasheed also informed that he has submitted four resolutions with the state secretary assembly, which stand submitted on February 12, 2013, for the return of mortals of Muhammad Maqbool Butt, Muhammad Afzal Guru. “they sabotaged my resolutions when Afzal was alive but now I only appeal them to learn from Tamil Naidu and give me their support”.
