SRINAGAR: Baramulla MP Er Rashid has sanctioned Rs 41 lakh under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MP-LADS) for the second phase of the Bedreshi Lift Irrigation Scheme.
According to Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, the funds have been approved for the provision and laying of 900mm DIA RCC pipes, a key component of the irrigation infrastructure aimed at improving water availability in the region.
The project is expected to benefit hundreds of farmers in Reshipora, Deedar Pora, and surrounding areas, enhancing agricultural output and contributing to rural economic growth.
“This is just the beginning,” said Inam. “We are in the first year of our five-year term with Er Rashid sb as MP and Sheikh Khursheed as MLA. Both are unwaveringly committed to people’s aspirations and real development on the ground.”
Highlighting the importance of agriculture, he added, “The farming community forms the backbone of our society. We assure them that their long-pending issues will no longer be ignored.”
The AIP extended its gratitude to the District Development Commissioner Kupwara and the Irrigation and Flood Control Division, Handwara, for their prompt administrative response in facilitating the implementation of the scheme.
