AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said the interim bail has been granted in accordance with earlier directions of the High Court and will allow the jailed MP to participate in the 40th-day religious observance of his father, the late Khazir Mohammad Sheikh.

According to the party, Er Rashid is scheduled to be released on Thursday morning and is expected to arrive in Srinagar later in the day.

The Chahlum of the late Khazir Mohammad Sheikh will be observed in accordance with religious traditions, with Er Rashid expected to join family members, relatives, well-wishers and supporters on the occasion.

Inam Un Nabi said the Baramulla MP would remain available in Srinagar from Friday afternoon onwards to receive people wishing to offer condolences and express solidarity with the bereaved family.

The AIP spokesperson said the occasion carries particular emotional significance for Er Rashid, who has remained away from his family due to his prolonged incarceration.

Er Rashid has been in judicial custody in connection with a case being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The party said the interim release would allow the MP to participate in important family and religious obligations following the death of his father.
