Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday condemned the plan of establishing a CRPF camp inside NIT campus and termed it a “communal conspiracy against Kashmiri’s”.

A spokesperson of Jama’at in a statement issued here said the decision of establishing CRPF camp inside the campus has been taken in a “high level meeting between ministry of HRD and outstation students” to which the local administration of NIT is totally uninformed.

He alleged, “It has been decided in the meet that there will be a separate hostel for outstation students for which a separate fund has been approved.

“This clearly depicts that the government of India has snatched all control of NIT from local administration and thus has a plan to create communal environment in the said institution”, he alleged.

He further said that “BJP is hell bent to destroy the communal harmony for which the party has approved 200 Crore rupees to thrust its ideology on Kashmiri’s”.

“The majority of students in NIT comprising of 75 percent are safe and secure in Kashmir but BJP who left no stone unturned to destroy the communal harmony makes an issue out of non-issue from it”, he said.

He lashed out at BJP and said when students from Kashmir were being harassed and intimidated in institutions across India, New-Delhi never paid any heed towards it. But to thrust its “nefarious political agenda” on Kashmiri’s, they give much hype to NIT for its vested interests.
