While speaking on the 30th Annual Day function of SKIMS, RS Chib, minister for medical and technical education and sports, highlighted the role of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah by establishing Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura.

RS Chib, Director SKIMS and various other doctors while inaugurating the state of art Haemodialysis facility and cobalt unit in SKIMS.

Chib stressed that Sheikh Abdullah placed the state on the path of progress and prosperity. And added he had compassion for the people of the state while conceiving the idea of setting up of SKIMS.

Among others the faculty members of Medical College, Srinagar and its associated hospitals also attended the function on Wednesday.

While appreciating the medical fraternity of the Institute, the minister said SKIMS has become the ultimate hope status for the people of the state. The Minister also assured that every possible assistance will be provided for up gradation and infrastructural development at SKIMS.

Chib also inaugurated the modern equipments for the patient care including state of art Haemodialysis facility and cobalt unit for treatment of oncology patients. And later he also released the annual report for the year 2012, formulated by Director SKIMS.
