SRINAGAR: A former police constable, Sadeeque Ali, wanted in connection to a triple murder case and drug trafficking, has been apprehended, officials confirmed here.

Ali, known for his involvement in serious crimes across various regions of Jammu, had been on the run after absconding during his trial before the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge in Jammu.

He is a key suspect in a triple murder case reported in 2021 at the Arnia police station and has been implicated in drug trafficking, with a charge sheet already presented to the court.

Ali had been granted interim bail during the trial but failed to appear, prompting a search by law enforcement. Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Arnia police station conducted a raid, leading to Ali’s arrest.

The triple murder incident involved Ali and another constable, Bhupinder Singh, where three individuals—Sabar Chowdhary, Arif Chowdhary, and Babar Chowdhary, all residents of RS Pura tehsil—were killed, and one person was injured.

The motive behind the incident was reportedly a dispute over land and cash. Singh and four others have already been apprehended in connection to the case.
