An exchange of fire took place between Indian and Pakistani forces on the forward posts along the LoC in Jammu district overnight.

As per a Defence spokesperson, “Pakistani Army fired on several posts in Jourian forward belt in Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu district.” He however said that there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing.

The cross border firing, which started at 1945 hours on Wednesday night, ended around 0230 hours Thursday morning.

There have been nearly 150 exchange of fire along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir this year, the highest in the past eight years.
