Army on Monday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid in the Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC). On the other hand Pakistan alleged that a civilian was injured by the firing of Indian army.

Sources said that the cross firing incident between Indian and Pakistani troops took place in Krishna Ghati sector where according to defence sources 4 to 5 infiltrators made an attempt to infiltrate.

The incident is the first of its kind after the DGMOs of both the sides met at Wagah and reached on a agreement to keep the LoC peaceful.

Defence sources said that Army noticed the movement in the forward areas and foiled the attempt.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has alleged that a civilian was wounded by the firing of Indian troops at Rahore village along the LoC in Kotli area of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) late on Saturday.

The injured PaK citizen has been identified as Muhammad Azhar.
