Exchange of Firing at LoC in Uri

Indian and Pakistani troops Tuesday exchanged fire in Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir reports said adding it is the second cross firing incident in last three days.

Both the countries allege one another of violating the ceasefire which is in place since 2003.

Defence sources said that Pakistan today violated the ceasefire, in Uri Sector which was responded “appropriately” by India.

They added that there was an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Uri sector from across the Line of Control (LoC) at 8.00 AM.

They said that the incident was of “localised nature.”
