SRINAGAR

A Kashmiri youth who is known as ‘Islamic Rage Boy’ has been languishing in Central Jail from past five years. The family members of Shakeel Ahmed Bhat resident of Malik Angan Fateh Kadal Srinagar told CNS that Shakeel was arrested by the government in 2009 on the charges of organizing protests against police, and since then he is languishing in the jail.

“12th PSA has been slapped on Shakeel despite the fact the he never resorted to violence or stone-pelting,” the family members said.

They strongly criticized authorities for framing fabricate charges and slapping of PSA against Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and added that authorities in their political retribution and while ignoring all constitutional rights are subjecting the Shakeel Bhat with worst kind of ‘state terrorism’.

They said that right from 1994, Shakeel remained most of the time under custody. “An injury to his right arm as a result of the torture had left him unable to lift anything and authorities take him as a threat,” they said and appealed the authorities to release Shakeel Ahmed without any delay.
