Farooq Abdullah Reconstitutes NC Provincial Committee in Kashmir to Strengthen Party Outreach

   

SRINAGAR: In a significant organisational move, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday reconstituted the party’s Provincial Committee for Kashmir Province, aiming to bolster the party’s internal structure and grassroots engagement across the Valley.

The newly restructured committee comprises senior leaders, including sitting legislators and experienced party workers, tasked with strengthening the party’s presence and political outreach amid evolving regional dynamics.

The reconstituted committee includes four Vice Presidents: Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Salman Ali Sagar, and Ahsan Pardesi. Syed Tawqeer Ahmad has been appointed as the Provincial Secretary, while Mohammad Yaqoob Wani has been designated as Joint Secretary (Coordination), Ghulam Nabi Wani Tailbali as Joint Secretary (Public Affairs), and Dr Syed Ahmad as Joint Secretary (Office Affairs).

In a bid to broaden the party’s representation and inclusivity, Bushan Lal Bhat has been appointed as Convenor of the Minority Cell for the Kashmiri Pandit community, and Jagdish Singh Azad as Convenor for the Sikh community.

The party leadership expressed confidence in the new provincial team, stating that the reconstitution reflects National Conference’s commitment to adaptive leadership, representational diversity, and renewed grassroots focus.

The rank and file of the party have extended best wishes to the new committee members as they take on their responsibilities to steer the party’s provincial affairs in a time of political transition.
