SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Monday said the expansion of the Council of Ministers was expected after Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha returns to the Valley.
Speaking to reporters in Budgam district of central Kashmir, Abdullah said the Lieutenant Governor was currently in New Delhi and the expansion was expected following his return.
Abdullah also called for prompt action against those responsible for disturbing peace, referring to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s demand for strict action following an attack.
He said the Chief Minister had also sought compensation for the damage caused in the incident and urged the Central Government to take cognisance of the matter.
Abdullah stressed the need for timely intervention by the authorities, warning that attempts to disrupt peace could aggravate the situation if not addressed promptly.
