SRINAGAR: The Food Civil Services and Consumer Affairs department office was gutted in a fire mishap overnight between Saturday and Sunday in North Kashmir’s Uri, officials said.
They said that an FCS&CA office building situated in Main Town caught fire last night, reducing the structure to ashes.
“The structure housed the office of the Tehsil Supply Office and another room,” they said.
“The fire was brought under control after hours of strenuous efforts by firefighters and locals. Fortunately, the office records were saved in the incident,” they said.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. (GNS)
