SRINAGAR: The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Monday suspended four officials in connection with the issues pertaining to black marketing of Kerosene Oil in Pulwama District and Jammu and Kashmir Food Entitlement Scheme Ration (JKFES Ration) in Jammu District.

Three officials who have been suspended in connection with the black marketing of Kerosene Oil are Abdul Rashid, Tehsil Supply Officer, Kerosene Enforcement, Bashir Ahmad Ahanger, Tehsil Supply Officer, Pampore and Taj Musa Rather, Assistant Storekeeper-cum-Clerk.

The department has ordered a preliminary enquiry into the Pulwama incident to be conducted by Controller, Legal Metrology, J&K,  Akbar Wani.

The official suspended in connection with Jammu incident includes  Kaka Ram, Storekeeper of R. S. Pura. A Fair Price Shop dealer namely Rashpal Singh who was involved in the incident has been blacklisted and his dealership has been placed under suspension. The department has also initiated the process to take action against a local rice mill functioning under the brand name of M/S Ganesh Rice Mill in this regard. A preliminary enquiry has been ordered into the Jammu incident which will be conducted by V. S. Sambyal, Joint Controller, Legal Metrology, Jammu.
