SRINAGAR: On Saturday, Lionel Messi’s Argentina defeated Mexico by 2-0 in the Group C match at Lusail Stadium, Qatar.

Lionel Messi scored the first goal of the game in the 64th minute, firing the ball into the lower corner to the left of the goalkeeper.

Enzo Fernandez of Argentina scored the second goal in the 87th minute, which doubled the lead of Argentina.

With a brilliant low-strike goal, Messi equaled Maradona’s World Cup goals tally. Both now have eight goals each.

This match win put the South American team back on track to reach the last 16 of the World Cup. Argentina will face Poland in the final group match.
