SRINAGAR: The District Election Officer, Jammu, on Monday handed over the final electoral rolls to representatives of political parties, marking the completion of the Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2025 for the 77-Nagrota Assembly Constituency, with April 1, 2025 as the qualifying date.
The summary revision process, which began on April 8, involved the rationalisation of polling stations within the constituency. As a result, five new polling stations were added, increasing the total to 150 from the earlier 145.
The process included active participation from Booth Level Officers (BLOs), public engagement through SVEEP initiatives, and coordination with political parties, educational institutions, and civil society groups. A mobile awareness van, “Democracy on Wheel,” equipped with modern facilities, was also deployed by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to enhance outreach.
Four Special Camp Days were held on April 12, 13, 19 and 20 at all polling stations, during which eligible electors participated in the registration process. The revision was carried out transparently, with regular stakeholder meetings and weekly updates on claims and objections.
Final electoral rolls are now available for inspection at polling stations in the constituency, as well as at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Assistant EROs, and on the official CEO J&K website https://ceojk.nic.in.
The DEO Jammu advised political parties and electors to verify their names in the rolls, note their EPIC, part and serial numbers, and file an appeal to the District Magistrate if aggrieved by any decision of the ERO.
The DEO also appreciated the efforts of BLOs, nodal officers, and citizens in completing the exercise and urged continued active participation in the democratic process.
