Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Wednesday instructed the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority or LAWDA to complete the survey of Dal lake dwellers and submit the final data within ten days by January 17.
The DC issued these instructions in a meeting convened here to review the status of a survey of dwellers residing in the Dal lake.
The meeting was informed that survey of 53 out of 60 hamlets that exist in the Dal lake has been completed. Giving details it was informed that a total of 2908 families reside in these 53 hamlets.
The LAWDA was asked to complete the survey of the remaining 7 hamlets by January 15 and submit the final data of all 60 hamlets to the office of the DC latest by January 17.
The meeting was informed that existing information about the number of dweller families as per the survey conducted by LAWDA will be published in print media for inviting claims and objections of concerned families.
It was informed that submission thereof will be open up to January 15 after which no claims or objections will be accepted.
Meanwhile, a team of eight revenue officers has been constituted to help LAWDA compile the final data of Dal dwellers to be submitted to the government.
