National Conference today clarified that they will not participate in elections unless centre restores the status of J&K before August 8.

The senior leader of NC and Member Parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone called leaders who met Lt Governor as ‘stooges’.

“GOI of India has used and throw policy for them. They have no faith in public,” news agency KNS quoted Lone as saying.

He boasted that no national conference leader will be part of any new emerging party.

“ I will give in writing that National conference will not be part of any election process unless centre restores August 5 status of J&K.

He also said that BJP cannot make any inroads here, it is only eight to ten persons who have no public support here and are part of them. They will be rejected by people.

Lone further added that these are same people who in 1984 toppled the Farooq Abdullah Government and everyone knows for how long it lasted.

“ GOI is again repeating the same tactic here. But they should know the situation on the ground is against them,” he said. (KNS)
