Welcoming the statement made by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, Congress leader, Taj Mohi-u-Din Tuesday said that finally Omar said what I have been saying throughout my life.

“Kashmir’s accession with India is final and this is what I have been saying. Omar Abdullah has uttered reality and it is good to hear from him the reality,” Taj told CNS adding that it was Shiekh Muhammad Abdullah who facilitated the accession of Kashmir with India through Constituent Assembly.

He said what Omar said in Assembly and at other places is adifferent question. “Omar has now said that accession is final and Kashmir is an integral part of India. He (Omar) said what Congress is stood for,” he said.

“It was Shiekh who was heading Constituent Assembly that time. The Accord signed by Maharaja Hari Singh was rectified and upheld by Shiekh Abdullah,” Taj said.

Pertinently, NC Additional General Secretary a few days before had claimed that Shiekh Muhammad Abdullah did not play any role in Kashmir’s accession with India while in September this year, talking to the European Delegation led by Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to India, Joao Cravinho, Omar Abdullah stated that J&K’s accession with India was on four issues only—Currency, Communication, Foreign affairs and Defence.
