Finance Minister to Table Record Ninth Union Budget

   

SRINAGAR: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget in Parliament today, marking her ninth consecutive Budget since taking office, a record in itself.

The Budget presentation, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., is expected to focus on key macroeconomic indicators, including the fiscal deficit, capital expenditure, public debt, market borrowings, tax revenue, Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections and nominal GDP projections.

Attention will also be on allocations for major government schemes and spending priorities in sectors such as health, education and infrastructure. The Economic Survey 2025–26, tabled in Parliament on January 29, projected India’s GDP growth for the 2026–27 financial year in the range of 6.8 to 7.2 per cent.

The Budget speech will be broadcast live on Sansad TV and streamed on the Sansad TV and Press Information Bureau (PIB) YouTube channels, as well as on the official website, indiabudget.gov.in.
