SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has instructed the Finance Department and all Heads of Departments to operate over the weekend to prepare for the forthcoming Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly.
According to an official directive, the departments will remain functional on January 31 and February 1, despite these being Saturday and Sunday.
The Finance Department said the move is intended to ensure smooth handling of budget-related work and the timely clearance of official matters ahead of the session.
The order, numbered 21-FD of 2026 and dated January 30, 2026, was issued by Under Secretary to the Government Vishal Kumar, JKAS, and calls for full attendance and efficiency from all concerned offices.
The upcoming Budget Session is expected to include the presentation of the annual financial statement for the 2026–27 financial year.
