A residential house was gutted in a fire incident in Sonawari village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday midnight.

Reports said that during the intervening night of June 04 and 05, a residential house of Ghulam Nabi Wagay of Sadunara village in Sonawari area of Bandipora district was gutted in a fire mishap during the night.

Reports said that in the incident house has been completely gutted by the blaze while around 23 Kashmiri carpets including other items like silk worth of lacs rupees were gutted in the mishap.

Reports added that the timely action of locals and fire brigade officials managed to douse the flames and saved other residential houses.

However, no loss of life or injury was reported in the mishap, while the cause of the fire was not known immediately.

Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.
