SRINAGAR: A fire on Wednesday damaged two residential houses in the Padshahi Bagh area on the outskirts of Srinagar, affecting their attic portions.
Officials stated that the blaze broke out in two three-storey pucca houses, with the GCI-sheeted attic sections catching fire. The fire remained confined to the upper parts of the structures, causing partial damage to both homes.
Firefighting teams were deployed promptly, bringing the situation under control and preventing the fire from spreading to other parts of the buildings or nearby properties. The damage was limited to the attic areas, officials added.
Authorities said no casualties or injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation has been initiated.
