SRINAGAR: Four residential houses were damaged in a fire that broke out in Khan Mohalla, Gurweth Kalan, in central Kashmir’s Budgam district during the early hours of Wednesday, the Fire and Emergency Services said.
According to the department, a fire call was received at 2:17 am, and fire tenders were dispatched from the station a minute later at 2:18 am.
Firefighting operations were conducted by teams from Fire Station Khan Sahab, Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters Budgam, and Fire Station Chadoora.
The affected structures comprised three three-storey residential houses and one single-storey house, the department said.
Fire tenders remained deployed at the site as a precautionary measure to monitor the area and prevent any possible re-ignition.
Police are investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of the fire, according to the Fire and Emergency Services.
