SRINAGAR: A late night fire in old city has destroyed a four storeyed house, reports said. The fire was reported from Jamalata locality.
A fire service official confirmed the incident saying the fire tenders are on the job. “It is a four storey house that is on fire,” the official said. “Two houses adjacent to it have also caught fire.”

The official said that the fire service officials are on work and they have controlled the spread of the fire. More details, he said, will be known once the fire fighting is over. The cause of fire was not immediately known. Jamalata is a highly congested locality and halting spread of the fire usually remains a key concern.
The fire has attracted a huge population on the roads. Police have also rushed to the spot to see if their help was needed by the fire fighters.
