SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday informed the Legislative Assembly that financial assistance to fire victims in Jammu and Kashmir is provided under revised norms set by the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
Responding to a question from MLA Ali Mohammad Sagar during Question Hour in the ongoing Budget Session, Abdullah stated that the scale of assistance follows the updated guidelines issued by the Disaster Management Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
The Chief Minister, who also oversees Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction, added that these norms are reviewed every five years to ensure appropriate and timely support for disaster-affected individuals.
