SRINAGAR: A firing incident was reported from Batamaloo and reports suggest BSF is involved.

Though the exact details of the incident may take a bit to emerge, residents said that BSF that was passing through the locality opened fire. It hit a youth who has been rushed to the hospital.
A police officer said BSF is involved but will require time to get the exact details. He said the BSF has taken a route that is usually not being permitted for the paramilitary forces.
The boy has been rushed to hospital. It is not immediately known if he is being operated upon.
Hospital sources said one of them was actually brought dead. “We have another youth who is injured,” the source said.
The firing incident has triggered sort of a crisis in Batamaloo. People have closed their business and are on the road. Tensions are up. At a few places, there were tear smoke shells being fired at people.
One report said the slain boy belongs to a north Kashmir village and was a tenant with a family. However, police is yet to confirm it. There are many names in circulation but identity may take a bit of time.
The body was taken by a huge gathering from SMHS hospital and taken towards Nawab Bazar. The mourners are on way to Batmaloo, witnesses said.
