Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and Member Parliament, Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday strongly condemned the killing of a policeman and a civilian in the militant attack on the police-post guarding the shrine of Sheikh Hamza Makhdoomi (RA) at Tujjar Sharief in Sopore area of district Baramulla.
Mehbooba said violence in any form is unacceptable, and there is no place for innocent killings in a civilized society, an official statement said this evening.
“No religion allows such dastardly acts of violence which lead to spilling of innocent blood and bring enormous tragedies to the families of the victims,” she said.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families of deceased cop Fayaz Ahmad Bhat of Wadoora, Sopore and civilian Abdul Rahim Lone of Tujjar, she prayed for the everlasting peace of the departed souls. She also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
