Police and paramilitary troops fired upon protesting people in the home village of Afzal, Mazebugh Sopore resulting in the injuries to eight protesters. Police spokesman however, said that they have no information about the incident.
The locals told Kashmir life over phone that people of Mazebugh Sopore came on roads to protest the hanging of Afzal Guru. The protesters were demanding body of Afzal as well. They said that the police and paramilitary personnel fired upon peaceful protesters injuring at least eight persons.
Dr chalkoo in the district hospital Baramulla told Kashmir Life that he received eight injured people in the hospital which are being treated. However, 02 of them were serious and have been shifted to Srinagar. “One of them had a bullet injury on neck and other on his thigh so they were shifted to Srinagar,” Dr chalkoo said.
