Unidentified gunmen Sunday evening fired upon a person at Pinjoora Shopian, leaving him critically injured.

According to reports, the person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan was fired upon by unidentified gunmen.
He was critically injured and was shifted to district hospital Shopian where he succumbed to his injuries. He had come out of his Eisha prayers when some people sought his attention. As he moved, he was fired upon from his rare side leaving him in a pool of blood. Reports said they were three to four boys and they fired a number of bullets.
The reports suggest that he was close aide of National Conference leader Shabir Kullay. Kullay unsuccessfully fought assembly elections in 2014.
Advocate by profession, Khan was public prosecutor in NC-Congress government.
Pertinently on Saturday evening, Bashir Ahmad was shot dead at his home in Pulwama.
Police have registered a case.
