Police on Monday said that it has arrested five militant associates of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that a joint team of army’s 22 RR, 92 Bn CRPF and SOG arrested the five militant associates in Tujar and Harwan areas of Sopore in separate raids.
“Today on April 13, 2020, Sopore Police/ Security forces arrested five militant associates of LeT outfit in case FIR No. 03/2020 of PS Bomai dated 27/01/2020(grenade lobbing incident on the house of one civilian at Tujar village,” said the spokesman.
He identified them as Arif Billa son of Abdul Ahad Sheikh, Sartaj Ahmad Shiekh @ Sahba son of Mohammad Ismail Sheikh, Nissar Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Ahmad Lone, Mohammad Murtaza Bhat @ Aakash son of Atiquallah Bhar all residents of Tujjar-Sharief, Fayaz Ahmad Ganai son of Ambir Ganai a resident of Harwan Sopore.
“Incriminating materials including Hand Grenades 05, UBGL thrower 1 and UBGL Grenade1 were recovered on their disclosure further investigation is in progress,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
