Even as rescue operations to trace the five missing soldiers who went missing on Tuesday were going on in full swing, chances of their survival appear bleak as they remained buried under snow avalanches for the third consecutive day, official sources said.

“There is still no trace of five soldiers who went missing near Line of Control (LoC) in Bandipora and Kupwara districts after snow avalanches hit their camps, following heavy snowfall in north Kashmir on Tuesday”, the sources said.

They said there appear bleak chances of their survival after remaining buried under snow for the third day today.

Three soldiers went missing at Gurez sector of Bandipora while two others went missing in Nowgam sector of Kupwara district. However, the search and rescue operations to trace them were going on.
