In a rare incident, five members of a family died of asphyxia on Friday night at a rented accommodation at Bemina Srinagar.
Official sources said that a family from Karnah-a Border area of north Kashmir in Kupwara district had come to Srinagar for the treatment and were staying at the rented accommodation in Boat Colony in Srinagar. However, during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, five members of a family including two females one male and two kids died of suffocation due to a leakage of gas.
Meanwhile, police have taken the cognizance of the case.
